Down Home Stew
INGREDIENTS:
2 Lbs. stew meat or Venison (1 inch cubes)
2 medium potatoes
6 medium carrots
6 celery stalks
1 large onion
1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
1 Tbsp. beef bullion
1 tsp. oregano leaf
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add meat, brown well on all sides. Transfer to large stock pot with 8 cups water. Bring to boil, reduce heat and start to simmer. Meanwhile, chop onion, cut potatoes into bite-size pieces. cut carrots and celery into 1 inch chunks. When meat is almost tender (1 1/2 to 2 hours) add remaining ingredients and simmer another 30 to 40 minutes. Salt to taste (1 to 2 Tbsp.). Enjoy!
